SIMONA NOJA

VIENNA STATE OPERA BALLET ACADEMY

Born and educated in Romania.Simona Noja has been a Principal Dancer with the Romanian State Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Vienna Staatsoper. She has been an international guest dancer for ballet companies including: Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires; Teatro Municipal, Santiago, Chile; National Ballet of Cuba; Bolshoi Ballet, Moscow; Royal Swedish Ballet; Finnish National Ballet and the Stuttgart Ballet in Germany among numerous others. Her repertoire includes all of the major roles in the classical and international ballet arena including ballets by George Balanchine, John Neumeier, John Cranko, Boris Eifmann, Roland Petit and Kenneth Macmillan. Simona Noja has been the recipient of awards and the winner of prizes in international ballet competitions, among them: Silver Medal at IBC, Jackson Mississippi, USA 1990; Best Female Dancer of the Year from �gDanza and Danza�h; including numerous distinctions from governments of Romania and Austria. She has been partner to international leading male dancers who include: Vladimir Malakhov, Manuel Legris, Jose Carreno, Boberto Bolle and Igor Zelenski. Since 2012 she has been the Ambassador of the �gCluj-Napoca-European Capitol of Culture 2021�h Project, Romania.

BORIS NEBYLA

BALLET OF NATIONAL OPERA CLUJ-NAPOCA

Boris Nebyla was born in Bratislava Slovakia where he began his dance studies at the Dance Conservatory of Bratislava, followed by studies at the Dance Conservatory of Vienna and the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera. He danced with the ballet of the Vienna State Opera from 1993-2005, then the Ballet of the Vienna Volksopera as a guest soloist and as a permanent guest artist with the National Theater in Bratislav, dancing a wide repertoire of soloist and principal roles in all of the major classical ballets as well as performing in many contemporary works of leading international choreographers. Mr. Nebyla was awarded "Most Elegant Dancer Prize" at the "Maya" St Petersburg International Ballet Competition in 1994, and the Silver Medal in 1998. Boris Nebyla has been a choreographer for many ballet companies and festivals throughout Europe and is the founder-director of the European Ballet Grand Prix-IBC, as well as the charity project "Hand in Hand" in Vienna. Japan Grand Prix-IBC 2019 is so very pleased and proud to welcome Boris Nebyla as a special guest teacher along with his lovely wife, Simona Noja, director of the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera, who has twice been a judge for JGP-IBC, returning this August to offer a special scholarship to the Vienna State Opera Ballet School.
